Founder of the Afghan-Canadian Cooperation and Empowerment Network
Abdullah Tawakoli was born in 1994 in Arkan village, Kiti District, Daykundi Province, Afghanistan. He completed his primary and secondary education in Herat Province and later continued his higher education in Political Science at Gharjistan Private University in Kabul.
From a young age, he has been actively involved in political, social, and cultural activities and served as a member of the Political Office of Hezb-e Wahdat-e Islami Afghanistan. Mr. Tawakkoli served for one year as the Secretary of the Political Office and afterward assumed responsibility for managing the office’s relations with government institutions and foreign embassies.
Following the political changes in Afghanistan and the return of the Taliban to power, he remained in Kabul for some time. During this period, he faced serious challenges and was detained for a short time by members of the Taliban group. After his release, he began his migration journey. Eventually, after going through difficult stages of migration, he arrived in Canada and currently resides in Ottawa.
With a deep belief in social responsibility and the importance of solidarity within the migrant community, Abdullah Tawakoli founded the Afghan-Canadian Cooperation and Empowerment Network, which has been registered and incorporated as a non-profit organization under the laws of the federal government of Canada. The purpose of establishing this organization is to promote unity, mutual support, intellectual growth, and social empowerment among Afghans both within and outside Canada.
His goal is to build a bridge between the Afghan community and Canadian civil institutions and to strengthen the positive role of immigrants in social, cultural, and economic development.
